Worry and anxiety

Worry and anxiety can take up a great deal of room in everyday life. Thoughts keep spinning, the body stays on alert, and it can be hard to relax even when nothing is actually wrong. You are far from alone in feeling this way, and support is available.

How it can feel

  • Recurring thoughts about things that might happen.
  • A body that feels tense, restless or tired without a clear reason.
  • Difficulty falling asleep or sleeping through the night.
  • Avoiding situations, places or conversations that bring discomfort.

When talking can be helpful

  • When worry affects your sleep, work, studies or relationships.
  • When you notice your world getting smaller because you avoid things.
  • When you have tried to handle it on your own without moving forward.

How we can work together

We start by understanding what the worry looks like for you, when it appears and what keeps it going. From there we shape an approach that suits you.

The work often involves getting used to what feels uncomfortable step by step, at a pace that suits you, and finding new ways of meeting your thoughts. My background is in both CBT and psychodynamic therapy, and I use what fits you and what we are working on.
